Vietnam has a significant bus network, but be aware that you will have no place, mechanical breakdowns are frequent as well as collisions, the country does not have any first aid service, roads are not lit and have often large potholes and collapsed bridges. There are however Japanese or Korean buses, modern and comfortable, for long distances.

The railroad network, which connects HCM-VILLE to Haip Phong, is slow but relatively comfortable and safer. Count maximum 44 hours (average: 39 km/h) between Hanoi and HCM-VILLE and minimum, 36 hours. You can rent a motorcycle almost everywhere. If you do not want to drive, a driver of rickshaw will offer his services as a driver / guide (6 USD a day). The bike is the best means of transport in Vietnam: popular, practical, not dangerous, easy to load. Count about 1 USD a day.

Air

Vietnam Airlines has almost the monopoly of domestic flights. The domestic tax is 1.65 USD, only payable in dongs.

Internet

The Internet suffix is: .vn

Languages spoken

The official language of Vietnam is Vietnam Ian. Minorities, representing 15% of the total population, have conserved their mother tongue. Therefore, minority languages are still used especially in the north of the country. This is mainly the case for Tha?as well as for Chinese. Moreover, English is more and more used in business despite the efforts made by the Government to promote French. Finally, French is spoken as a second language by about 100,000 citizens, especially the elderly.
