Local business incentives


Within the PHARE programme, foreign companies and especially the European Union's small companies can benefit from technical and financial aids in order to carry out their projects. This programme, aimed at developing Eastern countries, contributes sharply to rising up the number of joint-ventures. The Trade and Investment Promotion Office (TIPO) provides support and assistance to foreign investors.

D.d   Minimum 5 shareholders   Minimum SIT 4.1 Million. This amount must be paid as soon as the company is set-up.   Liability is limited to the amount of capital contributed.   Expenses depend on the amount of the subscribed capital. About SIT 75,000 including notaries' fees.    


Registration and licensing procedures


Status must be drawn up in a notarized deed. They must be approved by the Registration Office which will send the file to the Statistics Office. Then, the founders will have to open a bank account in order to transfer the capital. Finally, the company's registration must be published in the offical advertisement journal within two months after the setting-up (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia: OGRS).



Foreign exchange control


Free conversion of the Slovenian currency, Tolar, is carried out, as well as the right to repatriate profit and capital.


Regulations concerning equity investment


A majority holding interest in the capital of capital of a local company is legal in Slovenia.
