Political system


Sweden is a parliamentary Constitutional monarchy.
The Riksdad is the single chamber in parliament. The 349 deputies are elected by direct universal suffrage, every 4 years, the thrid Sunday in September.
the government is mainly from SPD (Democrat Socialist Party). The Conservatiove party, second party in Sweden, is the main government oponent.
Sweden is divided in 24 administrative provinces (län), comprising 288 municipalities (kommuner).

Head of State: King Charles Gustave XVI, since Sepember 1976
Prime Minister: Goeran Persson, since March 21st 1996.

Tourist sites


-Ystad, well preserved medieval city with half-timbered houses.
-Morrum, mecca of the salmon fishing.
