Agriculture

The Peruvian agriculture reached record figures for products like corn, potato and cotton in 1996. These good results were also reached in 1997. The fishing sector is characterized by very good results.
The main productions in Peru are: sugar cane, potatoes, rice, corn but also fruits.

The areas under cultivation include arable lands and those with permanent crops. They represent 4,170,000 hectares in Peru.
