Currency
The currency is the Balboa, however the commonly used currency is the USD. The use of credit cards is very wide-spread in the capital. Most stores, hotels and restaurants accept them. You can withdraw money from cash dispensers. The ISO code for the balboa is PAB. 1 _ = 0,87 PAB.
Business hours
The national banks open from Monday to Friday, from 8.00 to 15.00, the foreign banks open from 8.00 to 13.00.
Transportation
Road
The road network is undergoing important works of modernisation in the capital and inside the country (the Panama/Colon highway under construction, extension of the interAmerican road). When driving in Panama be attentive and cautious. Fuel supplies are suitably and regularly ensured on the whole territory.
