Agriculture

The floods of 1997 damaged the lands of the Czech farmers. The country has a very large self-sufficient and diversified production. Moreover, the Czech farming sector needs reforms in order to prepare the country for a future entrance within the European Union. Apart from the farming sector, the forest sector is very important for the Czech Republic.

The areas under cultivation include arable lands and those with permanent crops. They represent 3,333,000 hectares in Czech Republic.
